Fearless and ferocious, heroic but hip, the Menehune Surf Warriors are the most feared warriors in all of Polynesia. Even though their size may fool their enemies, these half-sized dudes are the islands’ vigilant protectors, watching over the land and its people.
They shred waves, practice mixed martial arts with agility and skill, and revere the land while guarding against its unleashed natural power.
These action heroes are basically laid back, transforming into fierce warriors only when mother nature’s rage or the evil elite cabal threaten the land and its people. With their unwavering bravery, they stand ready to defend their home and the people they love. As the struggle between man and nature and the battle of good and evil ensues, the epic story of the Menehune and their daring adventures unfolds.
warrior gear and weapons of choice
After the warriors responded to the appeal, they drank a special potion provided by Kahu, the Chief Kahuna. Almost instantly, they reduced in size. But with their physical reduction, their strength increased. The Menehune asked Kahu what type of combat gear they would have, and he told them they need only do a backflip, and they would be transformed into combat- ready warriors. They flipped in sequence, and a flash of light energized the sky. A colored cloud of smoke with various colors dissipated to reveal each of the warriors adorned in headgear, magical sea turtle shield, and weapon of choice.
Hawaii was blue smoke, and his warrior helmet had blue feathers. Kauai was red smoke, and his warrior helmet feathers were red. Maui was purple smoke, and his warrior helmet feathers were purple. Oahu was green smoke, and his warrior’s helmet feathers were green.
MENEHUNE NAMES AND WEAPONS
Kahu now tells the various Menehune that they must have new names. He says, “I am naming you after the islands where your Olohe Tribe lives and protects underground. Along with protecting your tribe’s island, you all will also be protecting the outer islands equally.”
The Menehune are named Kauai (red feathered), Oahu (green feathered), Maui (purple feathered), and Hawaii (blue feathered). Kauai’s weapon of choice is the Nifa-Oti, the war knife of Samoa. Oahu’s weapon of choice is the double nunchakus. Maui’s weapon of choice is the Bo staff. And Hawaii’s weapon of choice is the double rattan escrima sticks.
